Here I am, counting down the hours, then minutes, then seconds to my holidays. Desperately clinging on to that every scond that slips out of my fingers. Futile. As if catching water with bare hands.

Then counting down to the Finale at Johannesburg, Soccer city, where the final curtain of the world's most elusive sporting event finally falls.

Types Of Friends

Like it or not, hate it or love it, friends play a very big role in our lives. The moment we stepped out of our cozy homes, it's our friends that we sometimes have to depend on, lean on. But there are, many types of friends. Not putting them into specific categories, but there are specific friends for specific functions, and purposes.

Let's start from the bottom to the top...

Known

Friends that are known to you, that is somebody you know, just getting started to be friends. Mostly most of those who we just get to know or make friends fall into this category. We might even forget their names if we met them the second time. We don't expect favours or do favours as we are not that close. Yet.

Group or Partner or colleagues

The second I guess. Most of the time we spend our time working, studying. So it's impossible that we do not come across human presence. These category are those that you face everyday in your lives, probably having to work together for a decent period, sometimes even for the whole life you worked( one good example would be your boss =D). Usually normal, but confrontations and problems occur quite often among these categories. Sure there are good times and bad times together while working and studying, but the moment you reach home or when holidays come, you won't be bothered as they are temporary erased from you database for a time being. Not that you don't like them, but they tend to get forgotten by you easily when you are not in your normal routine. You won't be thinking about your boss while vacation-ing, right? XD

Normal friends

Probably the level where the building block of a stable relationship starts- TRUST. Friends in this level are the one you can divulge secrets, share gossips without fearing a backlash or misunderstanding. Mostly those that we know what she or he likes or hates, and of course understand their personality and behaviour.

Situational or Functional groups

A group of friends sharing a few interests, but still able to get together. For example, it's not easy find a group of soccer crazy friends to play football. But other than soccer, we seldom meet up or do things together...

Best Friend

One who you trust a lot, probably more than your parents XD. He or she knows you like you know yourself. Will be there for you most of the time when you are down to pick you up, and will be behind you whenever you are doing something. Share a lot of interest together, and never feeling bored with his or her presence.

Gang

Now this is the category where the friendship growth escalate. A gang is simply a group of very good friends. Although they may not be as good as a best friend, but believe me out of 5 stars, they surely deserve four and above. It's not easy to have a gang of people sharing the same interest, and sporting enough to do all kinds of things. A place where eve the most timid one's will feel like having a crowd around him or her...

Brothers and Sisters

These are the friends that you have gone through everything with, worthy to be a brother or sister to you. You've gone through every single thing with him, her or them. From big problems, to petty occasions like having meals and sleeping, having pillow talk, men's talk. Even though they might leave or walk different paths, you'll always have that space in your heart to think of them out of the blue, meeting them once in a while does mean a lot. Strongest bond of them all, but still not the greatest.

"Kaki's"

After pondering for a long, long time, I cannot deny that my kaki's are those who I placed the highest of them all. No prejudice, but it is by God's will that we grew up in the same town, go to the same school, and some of them have passed every year with me in the same class from primary school and secondary school. From tiny little kids till the big handsome and pretty girls now, although there are times we meet once in a year. But for those who has passed by the holidays with me, whether it is having tea breaks around Taiping town, or watching World Cup matches at Pusat Makanan Taman Tasik, singing Karaoke at Rex Box or watching movies at Taiping Central, every small and ordinary thing we do seems like a wonderful holiday to me. We don't meet everyday, but with Facebook and MSN around, I'm sure there won't be an end to the crap we have.

Kudo's to all those Kaki's that have made my holidays a normal yet enjoyable one. We wil meet again come December. This time, with Ying Zhe the painter coming back from the US.

We'll bang you up bro. Beware XD

World Cup Curses

It's down to four team to continue their quests in searching football's ultimate holy grail. It's is of course, the ultimate time to predict who will end victorious in Africa this time. Each and every team has their pro's and con's. Sometimes even the best cannot prevail, due to the famous curses that has ever made the World Cup an elusive and remarkable achievements and a dogma to those who can't hold it.

CURSE 1

No European team has ever lifted the trophy outside of Europe. This means that every European team that has won the World Cup in the past has only done so on European soil. Not in Asia, America. Nada. So Uruguay to win the trophy??? XD

CURSE 2

The big mouth of Pele, the Brazillian footballing legend is rather evil though. Each praises for a team or player that is uttered is sure to gurantee in failure. I had not listened to any quotes this guy make. The last one was in 2006, when he claimed that Robinho was the next him. Robinho and Brazil then got pawned by France.

p.s. I think that Pele prayed for an Argentina landslide victory against the German. XD



Curse 3

Everything goes in a cycle. Life. Methamorphosis. Seasons. So does football... The picture says it all...


Each two wins add up to a same number, that is 3964. So who else dare to deny that Germany does not deserve to be champions. Beside, they played very well in this World Cup... =D

Toy Story 3 -The Finale- Review

Aww... I've been waiting for this for so long. Correction. I didn't know that there was even a probability that there would be a 3rd movie. Things got to a perfect ending in Toy Story 2, where little Andy is immortalized with his favourite toys forever in our minds.

Things did not turn out like that.

Andy grew up and is almost going to college. Although no more touching his toys, he still has a heart for them as he cannot bear to throw or give them away. But an accident happened when he was trying to keep his toys in the attic, only planning to take Woody to college. His mum threw his toys away, only for them to escape but ended up in a box destined to a day care centre.

Things did not go as expected at the day care. They were transferred to a room of small mischievous kids who played very roughly with them. They try to escaped, but were nearly foiled by the notorious Lotso, head of the "bad toys"

All's well end well. They managed to find a way back to Andy's house and... The ending is a sad and happy one. Look for the ending yourselves...

It's hilarious and you need to know something about Toys Story 1 and 2 to understand the jokes(well not all of them of course). Very touching and almost cried. But at least I now know that they are happy forever now. NO MORE please =D

Video Technology Implementation On Football Matches. Yes, or No?

The FIFA World Cup heat is on the rise. Yesterday's matches saw England slumping into a 4-1 defeat to the German tankers and Mexico well beaten by Diego Maradona's high flying Argentina.

2 matches. 2 controversial decisions.

MATCH 1 ENGLAND VERSUS GERMANY

Let's talk about England's "No Goal". I watched the match, supporting England. Lampard's shot ricochet off the cross bar and over the line, a.k.a A BEAUTIFUL GOAL. Everyone was jumping, fist were pumping in the air, and then suddenly, the play continues. No goal for England!

" NO GOAL! PLAY CONTINUES!"

MATCH 2 MEXICO VERSUS ARGENTINA

Lionel Messi was charging towards the Mexican goal. Nutmegging the Mexican defenders, he powered his shot which unfortunately was blocked by the on coming goal keeper. Bad luck for the Mexicans as the ball fell right back to Messi. He lobbed the ball passed the entire defences, for Carlos Tevez to head it into an empty net without anyone in front of him, a.k.a AN OFFSIDE!!

2 big mistakes by refrees that no doubt sparkle the debate of the usage of video technology to make the right decisions when refrees can't make a fair and 100% correct judgement. No doubt if FIFA were to use video technology, in the future there won't be a single mistake or wrong that goes by unnoticed. Nil. The winner deserve to win and vice versa.

But if we were to look back at footballing history, till the day today, till the very instant this moment, as all of the matches played passed us by. Each and every one of them is a history, an epic battle between 2 teams. Asked any footballing fan he can tell you the exact scenario of a match( if he DID watch). What happened, and so on. Even those who aren't born in the previous World Cups knows The Hand Of God, Kung fu Kick on a supporter, The Goal that was not a Goal, and the lists goes on.

Nations on the losing side with bitter pride will definitely deny the goal or situation to the very last breath of their lives. But the goal stands or fall the moment the refree makes his decision. He may not be right all the time, but we have to accept that he has done his best every match and did not favour any side.

Every controversy and misjudgment makes football an unfair sport. But it is also the reason that football is the most watched sport in the world, minus the Olympics where so many sports are contended together. Whether you like it or not, hate it or love it, you aren't gonna quit watching football for one freaking mistake the refree or player make. Instead, every 4 years if the same team play against each other, you will be watching the match and with your pulse going berserk and you heart beating like mad, hoping that another repeat ain't gonna happened.

I am a Manchester United fan and honestly speaking, if video technology was implemented much ealier on, Didier Dorgba won't have scored the winner when we faced Chelsea, and that the 2009/2010 title was left at Old Trafford. I would not have sacrficied my teams glory and killing off the excitement football has given me.

But of course, measures have to be taken. To ensure horrible and "unforgivable" mistakes aren't to be repeated again. A goal should have been a goal, and when it is not, it isn't a goal. Extra refrees at the back of the goal is a welcome suggestion, and should be implemented without doubt.

JUST SAY NO TO VIDEO. It kills the game.

Asian Power

Asian football has certainly stamped it's mark on FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa. Did you saw the two freekicks Japan scored against Denmark? Or have you watched South Korea going against all odds and fighting bravely?

Tonight I'll be rooting for South Korea to throw up another shocker against Uruguay...
