RAGG-GING-The Uni Trend

Okay. It's the new semester that is about to start. So generally, it's the freshie this new semester that is going to be the target...

Define ragging. Any actions that involves any form of bullying from the senior to the junior, in this context and blog, in the university...

Sadly to tell you all that although in a university, the place where individuals are supposed to behave like intellect, ragging does occur. And in my blog, it is one of the top University in MALAYSIA!! Can you believe that?

Orientation in THIS university, I don't know whether every faculty carries out this trend, but in medic faculty, juniors are jeered, scolded, made to remmeber names and details of seniors. Any short circuit, DANG~... But what is more pissed is the drawing of sexual organs on your notes, and words which may hurt one self. THIS, is enough evidence of sexual and mental harassment.

For those who have gone through, yes it was sad, yes it was tough. But after one year, you simply forget the shame and pain that you went through, and now, you are plotting revenge, but ironically, against the new comers? Why? Is it because it's your turn to play pranks? Is it your turn to show who is boss? Is this the time to exert your authorities? Is it the time you earn respect?



Ragging IS a trend in THAT uni. That's why if you are from that uni, you merely said that well everyone does it. What about not DOING it? What about abolishing these uncivilised trend? In my opinion this trend is carried out behind the lecturer's back, as we all know that it is wrong. We ARE NOT IN AN ARMY, where military activities or shouting is required. And for those who think that ragging is a chance to nurture discipline, who are you to discipline them? Are YOU yourself discipline enough to discipline others? And for those for earn for respect through ragging, yes they respect you in front of you, but behind your back what do they tell their friends?

Probably you may again defend yourself ragging is the chance to get to know your juniors, and every pranks can be apologised in the future. Then what is the point of pushing them so hard, when you know what you do is wrong? Even if you don't apologise, you have planted the seed of ragging into their minds, and by that they would always look forward and say, "Never mind, next year it will be our turn..."

For seniors-to-be, if you did drop by to read my blog, reflect on it. Even if the juniors do seem to tolerate, think about your future sons and daugthers. What would happen if ragging is alloweed to continue and of course, getting more and more outrageous each time, every year?

Boys may be able to take it, but don't think that every girl is that strong...

I am not simply pointing finger and defaming your uni. I have solid proof and verbal evidence from students of that uni...

The only pride from the university that has mistakenly uploaded 4000+ wrong names to the internet is... WE DON'T RAG!! And why am I blogging it here to tell you, because the motto of my uni is 'KAMI MEMIMPIN', WE LEAD!
