3 Idiots Movie Review

After wiki-ing it, I just found that it was a 2009 film... It broke the box office in India and is now the highest grossing film in India of all time.

Farhan, Raju, and Rancho are 3 friends who got into an engineering college. Farhan however wanted to be a wildlife photographer, and is forced by his father to be an engineer. Raju aspires to be an engineer, but pressure from his family made him unable to really focus on his studies. Rancho however, was a genius from a wealthy family, and always tops the class, while his friends settled at the bottom. Despite the wide gap, the 3 of them are very close friends, despite quarrels happened.

Rancho's passion is for knowledge and taking apart and building machines rather than the conventional obsession of the other students with exam ranks. With his different approach Rancho incurs the wrath of dean of college, Professor Viru Sahastrabudhhe (ViruS). Rancho irritates his lecturers by giving creative and unorthodox answers.

They humiliated their classmate Chatur while trying to prank on Prof Virus during a convocation speech, leading Chatur to challenge Rancho to see who will be successful in 10 years time. Note that the film is a flashback of their university life.

In the present time, it was revealed that Rancho disappeared and lost contact with his friends after graduating. The story mainly revolves on finding him back after sources that he may have been alive was found. Farhan, Raju and Chatur went from place to place to search for Rancho, as the flasbacks of their University life making the story clearer and clearer.

As this film is horrendously long ( 2 hours plus), I'm finding it very difficult to write a full-fledged account of the plot. But in the end, all ended well... XD

A must watch... Easily the best film that you watched for this current year, and probably one of the best in your life time.

It is in Hindi and English. Do not be afraid for not being to catch the phrases or dialogues. With subtitles, I tell you, you're gonna enjoy this film...

Absolutely mind blowing, funny and 5 star rated movie from me!!!

And the soundtracks ROCK too! although it's in Hindi, but still, oh man, fantastic and wonderful!

The Law Of Ueki (植木の法则) review

Few days ago, I finally finished this 51 episodes-anime, The Law of Ueki. And my, was it a fabulous one!

Plot of the story is roughly about, the current God of Heaven wants to pick a new candidate to succeed him. Among the so called "deities", who are chosen as one of the candidates, must choose a high school student ( or roughly someone in that age) as a contestant of a fighting tournament, giving him or her a specific power or ability, and fight other contestants. The winner of the tournament is granted a "blank zai" or blank talent, which grants the winner any talent he or she wants. The deity in charge of the tournament winner would hence succeed as the new God.

Ueki using his ability

Ueki was one of the contestants. His deity in charge was Kobayashi, his home room teacher. Kobayashi never did wanted to become a God. In Ueki's case, he was actually testing Ueki's justice by trying to give him an ability. At first Ueki declines to have powers. But after a demonstration which Kobayashi destroyed a tree, Ueki asked for a power which can turned rubbish bits into trees.

Plot goes on to which Ueki is revealed as a Heavenly Being ( as in someone who lives in Heaven) but is thrown down to Earth by his father in order to win the tournament for himself ( Ueki's biological father thought of choosing him as his candidate for the tournament) but unfortunately, he was not chosen as a candidate. As a Heavenly being, Ueki can use the 10 treasures ( weapons used for offences and also defences).

Climax of the anime is of course the battle at Heaven. Ueki made up his own tag team, and was one of the few teams allowed to continue the tournaments further. Although his group members were relatively much weaker than the other teams, however with team work, believe and trust, they miraculously got to the final stage, battling Anon, a Hellion ( the opposite of a Heavenly Being).

All's well does ends well. Ueki defeated Anon, and in the end, went back to his old life as a high school student, with of course, a talent of his choice... =)

UEFA Champions League 2010/2011

The hunt for European football's holy grail commence yet again. Many regard this event the best among all footballing tournaments, even much greater than the World Cup. Yes, I agree. No doubt this is the stage where the every players reach for the stars, to be the kings of Europe.

The theme, much prominent of them all, is the Champions League Anthem, is an adaption of by Tony Britten of George Frideric Handel's "Zadok the Priest" from the Coronation Anthems. UEFA commissioned Britten in 1992 to arrange their anthem, and the piece was performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and sung by the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields

And my, does it brings the blood racing in my veins. Another season of sensational football has started.

The Lovely Bones(Novel) Review

Nice book. Nice and simple. No twist. But at least there is something, that small tiny part that makes it, special, and unexpected.

The story is about Susie Salmon. She was raped and murdered by her pedophilic neighbour( actually her neighbour likes killing! A serial rapist. And he kills after he rapes)

So after Susie was murdered, she somehow went to this special heaven (not with the fluffy clouds and a halo around her head! LOL!). A heaven which resembles just like our normal Earth but the thing is, she could see whats happening to the world she had left. The story revolves on how her family copped with the lost of her. How her father looked desperately for her killer. How her mother could not take the pain and indulged into adultery(which I despised a lot!), and her brother Buckley and sister Lindsey and also, Grandma Lynn. Oh ya, and her dog Holiday who met her in heaven after it passed away in the real world.

I read through the book and somehow felt so excited when her family came so close to unearthing a clue but did not- it makes you anxious about what will happen the next page and so on. But the beginning part was a little boring. I took about 2 weeks to finish the book(although i did not read it everyday but after half passing half of the book, literally I got hooked up and read everyday =) )

So there was this little special moment that she was given a chance to do something she could not and did not do when she was alive ( Secret =D and spoiler free ). And that, was rounded up by a beautiful ending that I did not even expected( She did not wake up from the dead like Jesus LOL!). But still, a simple and nice ending, that a complicated mind did not expect.

In a nutshell, all's well, ends well...

5 stars, for being able to narrate the story in a 1st person point of view( Dead person, but still a person XD on the living world after she died in such a tragic way). And made the whole story, simple, neat and nice and beautiful after a horrific start. Bravo!

Prince Of Persia The Sands Of Time preview

This is what I call an action-packed movie! Fighting scenes, acrobatic stunt moves, romance, humour, fresh new different plot... Feel free to read. DO NOT PROCEED AS I WILL REVEAL THE SPOILERS!!!

The story started off with the protagonist, Dastan a street urchin fending off the King's army when some controversy is stirred. Amazed by Dastan' courage, the King took Dastan back to his palace and gave him a family. Thus came to the reknowned Prince Dastan, the Lion of Persia.

In the present, the Persian army invaded the holy city of Alamut, which was suspected to be making and supplying weapons to Persia's enemy. Dastan accidentaly stumbled upon the Dagger of time, which can be used as a time travelling device.

The King came to Alamut to celebrate the victory. Prince Tus, Dastan's royal brother gave Dastan a robe to be presented to their father. Little that he know that the robe was poisoned. The King died when he put on the robe, which led to the accusation of Dastan for the killing of the King.

With the help of Princess Tamina, Alamut's princess, Dastan fled away. Then he slowly came to know about the power of the dagger. The plot then turns funny when both Dastan and Tamina started back stabbing each other to hold control of the dagger. But then slowly Dastan started to know about the truth of the dagger and vowed to help the Princess to give back the dagger to the Gods. Legend said that once upon a time the human race was so corrupted that it enraged the Gods. To punish human, a large sandstorm was whipped up to wipe out human civilization, only for one girl to stop the wrath of the Gods. Thus the sand storm was kept in a glass hidden some where beneath Alamut, and this is also the very sand to activate the time- travelling dagger.

Ah.. Princess Tamina.. <3>

The actual killer of the king was his own brother, Nizam. Nizam once saved his brother's life during a hunting trip and he intends to use the dagger to go back to the time he saved his brother, this time letting him die so that he can be king himself. After succeeding in stealing the dagger and finding the glass of magical sands he then stabs it to turn back time. Dastan managed to stop the time turning event which resulted him transported back to the time Persia breached Alamut. Now knowing that his evil uncle's scheme, he exposed his uncle's treachery, which in the end saved his father and his kingdom...

Definitely 5 *. Great soundtracks and stunt moves. Everything in a one and a half an hour movie. WATCH IT!!!

Why is this song called Vincent? Cos it was written in the remembrance of the great artist Vincent Van Gogh borned 30th March, which means we share the same birthday. It's such an irony that Vincent only manage to sell one painting during his entire life. His works only became well known after his death. I do admire him a lot, but I don't wanna be like him... I'm in love with this song... And when i say this, the question of gay surface... LOL.. I dunno whether Coldplay is a gay band or what. I just love this song. Don't give negative view by judging a person's choice... Just like Adam Lambert. He was much much better then Kris Allen, for me. This song, according to the writers, is about a king who has lost his kingdom, maybe did a lot of wrong things that caused tragedies. In the end, he found out he was wrong but it was too late that he knows that Death would only bring him to Hell...

First, I would like to say, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, is... ABsolutely fantastic, five stars show... Really did took my breath away...

The plot, the inclusion of so much more Transformers, the transformation process, so detailed, so clear, and the fighting scenes, Fuyooh~...

Optimus Prime, leader of the autobots

Synopsis is once again surrounding the All-spark cube, source of energy for the Transformers, but strangely though, it also changes electronical items to robots, but just into Decepticons(The bad guys). Why huh?



Anyway, in this episode, we found out that Megatron is revived(Oh My God!) but he is not the boss. The Fallen it seems, is the one placing orders on Megatron. Sweat. And to think Megatron landed in the Artic during the first episode...

So the plot goes on till they found out that the All-spark is merely a key leading them to the ultimate source of energy- Our Sun! It was told that Transformers have been to our world since a long time ago, and the machine to harvest energy of our sun is actually hidden inside one of Egypt's pyramid... LOL...

A lot of cool scenes, much more humour, even the newspaper gave it a good rating. And I know you people out there are screaming for the 3rd sequel... Just wish that it would not suck like other movies...

What I like about this movie is the determination of Sam. There was this one scene where Sam and Mikaela have to run across Decepticons to deliver something important (I'm not gonna spoil the plot^^), and Mikaela was worried that if they cannot make it. All Sam said was:" We're gonna make it, trust me"

I've got my inspirations from him. Nothing in this world is too hard. You've just got to believe, that we can all make it to what we want...
